Mama’s,

Your body is brilliant. It’s a divine vessel that’s more than equipped to carry you through life.

However, just like most women, I’m sure you don’t often get to experience it’s brilliance because you’ve been led to live in a way that doesn’t really honour her — you’ve been guided by a system that never really took the time to get to know Her.

As women, especially mothers, we’ve been led to live live’s that don’t honour the wisdom of our bodies through the voices of sensation, feelings, dreams, symptoms and dis-ease, so we often find ourselves in a normalized state of burn out and dis-ease time and time again.

We have been coerced down a path that doesn’t honour the nature of our womanhood and the primal elements She's made up of (and is impacted by) — the Field, the Collective Mind, the elements, light, frequency, our biosphere, the cosmos etc. 

Over the years the pressures of patriarchy, and a dominance of the expression of unhealthy masculine energy, has divorced us from our true and ever-evolving make up. 

So, if you’re here now then I trust that a part of you knows this in your bones, and because of that Knowing you’re ready to forge A New Way. You’re ready to honour your body and redefine what’s normal.

From this moment forward, as you move closer to your bodies brilliance, you’ll start to notice that you are not that much different from Mother Earth herself, so it is in her reflection and your relationship to Her that you’ll be able to better see and know yourself.

Over this next month, I will be offering stepping stones to redirect your relationship to your body, so that you can reconnect to Her magic in a whole New Way. 

When you learn how to consciously embody the brilliance of your body and embrace your capacity to revere and respect Her in a whole New Way, you begin to individuate yourself from the collective mind; therefore, becoming a more sovereign woman — free from the modern day hustle where there’s no end.  

With mad love and respect for the unspoken voice of your body that is calling to help you Root and Rise,

STEPPING STONES

Reclaim Radical Rest 

Lay your bones down on the earth at a point in time when you wouldn't do it otherwise (so not when you're tired, want to take a nap, or when you're going to bed at night).

Literally stop what you're doing the moment you get the ping of Radical Rest remembrance, and lay down somewhere other than your bed. Make it a radical act and spontaneous act.

Once your bones are splayed with the intention of deep surrender, just tune in and listen for as long as you can. Your only agenda here is to GET CURIOUS and to learn how to listen to the voice of your body without rational thought. 

Remember these are stepping stones and we are walking a spiral path that often doesn’t make sense until hindsight creeps in (paths are only straight and narrow, when we're suppressing the true nature of life and being woman).  

Lastly, revel in this radically spontaneous act!

FOOD AS MEDICINE

 

If you don’t have Garam Masala, I recommend:

  • Curry powder (same amount) or

  • Allspice and Cumin: Combine 4 parts ground cumin with 1 part allspice

DIRECTIONS

1. To make the coconut butternut lentil stew: Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook 5 minutes until soft. Add the ginger, garlic, and diced butternut squash and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Stir in the garam masala, turmeric, and cayenne and cook for one minute more.

2. Add 3 cups of water (or low-sodium vegetable broth). Season with salt and pepper and bring the stew to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the butternut is tender. 

3. Stir in the coconut milk, lentils, and chopped kale, cook for 5 minutes. Remove the stew from the heat and add the fresh cilantro. 

4. Divide the coconut butternut and lentil stew among bowls. Sprinkle with more cilantro and Cayenne, if you like. Enjoy!

 

WILD CARD

Go find a playground to hang upside down with your kiddos and pound your chest like you mean it. Pound your chest until laughter shakes yours and your kiddos bones (then take a picture and tag @the_nurtured_mother and all your mama friends who could use this radical act of play)!

This is the first time I've opened up this immersive container to beings beyond my returning clients (because of the need for this work during such a pivotal point in time). I believe that this work is an absolute necessity for mothers these days, given how much we carry, alchemize and influence on so many levels.

Stepping stones: 
Stepping Stones are our weekly offerings to help keep you on a path that feels good. They are delivered in a way that harmoniously reflects and activates the constant dance between the divine feminine and masculine and the mind-body- spirit-nature connection. You can think of these as life-serving skills, insights and resources to invite into your life.
The Stepping Stones are placed along a spiral path, so they can be metabolized and integrated at any point in your journey as a nurtured mother. 

Food As Medicine: 
We’re living in a time where our physical, mental and spiritual health is being tested by our modern food and the systems that try to control it.
So much of what we’re sold as food isn’t actually food (even all that ‘health food’ stuff), so the more that we can view food as vessels for high vibe life force energy, the more we can enjoy a deeper relationship with the food that fuels ours and our families bodies. 
Each week I will be including some of my fave Food As Medicine recipe for you, and the bodies that you cherish.
